I would like to introduce a very good book to learn Korean folk songs and learn Korean at the same time.
The book introduces Korean folk songs that are traditionally popular among Korean people. Most Korean people know the songs very well or heard the songs a lot of time throughout their life.
These are the list of the songs in the book.
The book explains about the songs in English so you can understand the origin of the songs.
Three Bears Song is a very popular among Korean kids and My baby Yuri loves the song too! :)
You can see how you can sing through the music score and the Lyric section has three types of lyrics, Korean, Romanized Korean, English Translation.
This will help you sing the song in Korean and understand what it means.
They even have a CD inside the book and you can listen to the songs and sing along. You can sing by yourself like a karaoke because they even provide an instrumental version.

I think this is a very good book for you if you are person who like to learn Korean in a more fun way. Memorizing songs is a very good method to learn foreign languages.

개울가에 올챙이 한마리 꼬물꼬물 헤엄치다(Kewulga-e olchaengi hanmari komul komul haeumchida)
A tadpole in the brook was wriggle wriggle swimming.
마리 is used only for animals or insects. You don't use it to count people. You use 명, so you say 한 명, 두 명. 꼬물 꼬물 is describing tiny twisting and turning movement, but you usually use it for a small bug or earthworm.
뒷다리가 쑥, 앞다리가 쑥, 팔딱팔딱 개구리 됐네(Tuitarika suk, aptarika suk, paltak paltak kaeguri tenne)
Back legs pop out, front legs pop out, hopping hopping turned into a frog
쑥 is used with 나오다(come out). When you use 쑥 나오다, it comes out fast, quickly, without any difficulty. There is a sound, 쏙. It is used with 들어가다(go in). 쏙 들어가다 means going in fast, quickly, without any difficulty.

팔딱팔딱 is a hopping, jumping movement. Korean has so many different movement terms.

Let's learn some more movement terms! 깡총깡총 으쓱으쓱 도리도리 깜빡깜빡 덜덜 There are so many movement terms, so I might list them in another posting. Let's learn these 5 terms. 깡총깡총 is a jumping movement. You might now wonder what the difference between 팔딱팔딱 and 깡총깡총. I will use 팔딱팔딱 when I describe something flat jumping. I will use 깡총깡총 when I describe something standing vertical such as a rabbit. You can say 토끼가 깡총깡총 뛴다 or 여자아이가 깡총깡총 뛴다. There is 껑충껑충. You use this when something big is jumping and leaping such as a kangaroo. 으쓱으쓱 is a shrugging movement. 어깨를 으쓱으쓱하다 means you lift your shoulders up. In English, you shrug to show that you don't care about something or ignore something or do not know the answer to a question. However, in Korea, if you hear 으쓱으쓱하다, that means that person is very proud of him/herself and feels good about themselves. But, if you say 어깨를 으쓱 한번 했다, that means the person literally lifted his or her shoulders up so it could be interpreted as not knowing, caring. 도리도리 means shaking your head. Korean people say this to their babies and teach them to turn their head right and left. 깜빡깜빡 is blinking movement. 눈을 깜빡이다 means blinking eyes. 불이 깜빡이다 means a light is flickering. 덜덜 is a shaking movement. When you are cold, you shiver. You can say 추워서 덜덜 떨었다. Ok. I hope this helps you guys a lot to learn Korean and understand some of the movement words. 따사로운 is sames as 따뜻한(warm). 따사로운 is used usually for the sunshine. (ex.따사로운 햇살)
커피 한잔의 여유를 아는 품격 있는 여자 (Keopi hanjanye yeoyureuraneun pumkyeok i-nneun yeoja)
A classy girl who knows how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
커피 is coffee. Korean does not have 'f'sound, so we pronounce like coppee.
밤이 오면 심장이 뜨거워지는 여자 (Bami omyeon shimjangi tteugeowojineun yeoja)
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
심장이 뜨거워지다(the heart gets hot) means to get excited and passionate. 그런 반전 있는 여자 (Keureon banjeon i-nneun yeoja) A girl with that kind of twist
그런 is a short form of 그러한(that kind of).
나는사나이 (Naneun sana-i) I’m a guy
사나이 is not really used that much when referred to a guy. People just use 남자 which is a man. 사나이 sounds a bit old-fashioned and a written form. When you want to say I am a good guy, you would say '저는 좋은 남자에요' rather than '저는 좋은 사나이에요.'
낮에는 너만큼 따사로운 그런 사나이 (Naje-neun neomankeum ttasaroun geureon sana-i)
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
커피 식기도 전에 원샷 때리는 사나이 (Keopi shikgido jeone wonsyat ttaerineun sana-i)

원샷 때리다 is a slang which you will not able to find the meaning in the dictionary. 원샷 means to drink up up the way. 때리다 literally means to hit, but here, it just emphasize 'drinking up.' So, it has kinda no meaning. It just makes the one-shot sound stronger.
밤이 오면 심장이 터져버리는 사나이 (Bami omyeon shimjangi teojyeobeorineun sana-i)
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
정숙한 means 'with virtue.' Here, 놀다 does not mean 'playing boys.' It is more like 'having fun.' So, if someone 잘논다(plays well), he or she can dance and sing and drink quite well.
이때다 싶으면 묶었던 머리 푸는 여자 (Ittaeda shipeumyeon mukkeot-deon meori puneun yeoja)
A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes
가렸지만 웬만한 노출보다 야한 여자 (Karyeot-jiman wen-manhan nochulboda yahan yeoja)
A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all 노출 means showing your skin. Korean people thinks that showing too much skin is a bit skanky. So, they think that a bit of showing is more sexy. That is why see-through look has been an in-thing lately.
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays 점잖다 means calm like a high class person. It's usually used for a man(not a woman) or a kid who is very calm like an adult.
때가 되면 완전 미쳐버리는 사나이 (Ttae-ga dwehmyeon wahnjeon michyeobeorineun sana-i)
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
근육보다 사상이 울퉁불퉁한 사나이 그런 사나이 (Keunyukboda sasangi ul-tungbul-tung-han sana-i Keureon sana-i)
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles That kind of guy
사상 is someone's thoughts and ideas and values. So in this lyric, it is saying I don't have bulging muscles, but I have good standard and values.
뛰는 놈 그 위에 나는 놈 baby baby 나는 뭘 좀 아는 놈 (Ttwiineun nom keu wiie naneun nom Baby baby Naneun mwol jom aneun nom) On top of the running man is the flying man. I’m a man who knows a thing or two, baby baby x2
We have a Korean proverb, 뛰는 놈 위에 나는 놈 있다. It means there is a guy always better man a guy like there is a flying man over a running man. So... here, he is saying I am the flying man. 놈 can be a translated to a guy or a man or a dude. However, you need to be careful when you use it because 놈 can be offensive. Only older people can use it to younger people or only friends can use it to each other. You cannot never use it to older people than you. Some younger people might not like it if you use it directly to that person. You can use 놈 to refer to a person you really know well as a third person when you are talking to your good friend.
